About our Wood

We ethically source our wood from trusted suppliers in the USA and plant trees to offset our consumption. Our woods are all-natural, finished with carnauba wax, and never dyed or chemically stabilized.

Wood adornment is a beautiful way to connect with nature. Each piece of our jewelry is a story, the grains speaking to you with beauty from its past. Organic materials were among the first materials to be used for jewelry, and we are excited to be bringing them back with a modern urban feel!

Wood is a wonderful material to wear. It is lightweight, comfortable, and breathable. Whether in your ears or just touching your skin, wood always has a warm feel. Due to the porous nature of wood, ears will feel healthier and less prone to smells.

Amboyna Burl

Amboyna burl is a type of wood that is prized for its beautiful and intricate grain patterns. It is a burl, which is a growth on a tree that is caused by a tumor or injury. Amboyna burl is known for its deep red, orange, and brown colors. The grain pattern can be either swirled or burled.

Bloodwood

It is known for its bright to dark red color. Bloodwood is a type of hardwood that is native to Australia, South America, and Africa.

Blue Mahoe

Highly varied in color, usually grayish or olive brown, sometimes w/ streaks of blue, or purple. It is sustainably harvested and used for reforestation. Also, its the national tree of Jamaica. The bark of these trees was formerly used for tying bundles of Havana Cigars.

Chechen

Varies in color from brown to orange to red, with dark streaks throughout. The grain is fairly uniform, and incredibly beautiful when polished.

Cherry

Cherry is considered to be one of the finest North American hardwoods. Cherry wood has been traditionally used in fine furniture since the first American settlers. Cherrywood is typically reddish-brown in color.

Curly Maple

Curly maple is a type of maple wood that has a distinctive wavy or curly grain pattern.

Ebony

Ebony is typically a very dark black color, but can also have streaks of brown to reddish-brown. The finish on Ebony is absolutely beautiful. Its so dense that it is one of the few woods that will actually sink in water!

Granadillo

Granadillo is a beautiful, dense, fine textured, tropical hardwood from Central America. Granadillo wood is known for its dark reddish brown color and its straight to interlocked grain.

Osage Orange

When cut cross grain, it has an iridescent glow to it. This tree was first used as fences or barriers on farms before the advent of barbed wire, got its name from the Osage Tribe that resided in the Oklahoma/Texas area, and is now found throughout the U.S.

Pink Ivory

Pink Ivory wood is commercially one of the rarest and most dense woods in the world. It ranges from a deep rich pink to a light pink with subtle grain that can be seen. The grain color can range from yellow/red/grey.

Swiss Pear

Swiss Pear is known for its fine, even grain and smooth texture. It is a light-colored wood, with a pale pink or light reddish-brown hue. It is a nice wood to engrave, as it provides great contrast when etched.

Tiger Ebony

Tiger Ebony is known for its dark brown color with lighter streaks or stripes. It is a tropical hardwood that is native to Africa.

Verawood

Known as Argentine Lignum Vitae. It's very dense and the color can vary from a pale yellowish olive to a deep forest green. It has a tendency to darken with time, especially when exposed to the sun.

Wild Olive

Olivewood is a dense, hard wood that is native to the Mediterranean region. It is obtained from the olive tree, the same tree that produces olives and olive oil. Olivewood is prized for its beautiful grain patterns, durability, and pleasant aroma.

Zebrawood

As its name implies, the grain of this wood resembles the stripes of a Zebra. Though it appears unwieldy, the grain is very predictable with straight to bumpy grain lines. This wood is very strong and stable, although very sensitive to moisture.

Inlay Only Woods

Beetle Kill Pine

The mountain pine beetles are destroying our forests. Beetle Kill Pine usually is the result of a dead or dying trees that have been infested with these beetles. The beetles carry a blue tinted fungus which destroys the ability for a tree to retain water. Yellow/blue/grey in color.

Hollywood

Holly ranges in color from white to ivory. Holly has a very close irregular grain with little or no discernible figure. We only use it for inlays because its incredibly porous composition makes it unsuitable for wear on skin.

Katalox

Katalox is great to inlay when a style calls for something nice and dark. Katalox wood has a dark purple-black color. Also very dense.
